Rythm: Recovery & Strain Developed by Bramhand Inc.
Rythm is a personal wellness and fitness tracking tool. It is not a medical device and does not provide medical advice, diagnosis, or treatment recommendations.
Always consult a qualified healthcare provider before making changes to your exercise routine or sleep habits, especially if you have a medical condition.

Is an account required? No. Rythm has no sign-in of any kind. You enter your name once during setup, which is stored only on your device — there’s no login, password, or registration.
Where is my data stored? All data — your scores, baselines, and profile details — is stored locally on your iPhone using Apple’s encrypted on-device storage. Nothing is sent to any server.
How does Rythm compute my Recovery score? Recovery is a weighted blend of your HRV, resting heart rate, sleep, and blood oxygen (SpO2) compared against your own personal 90-day rolling baseline — never against a population average.
How is my Cardio Fitness Age calculated? Rythm estimates a VO₂ max from the relationship between your maximum and resting heart rates, then combines it with your HRV and resting heart rate and compares the result to active-adult population norms for your age and sex. If your Apple Watch has recorded its own VO₂ max, Rythm also shows the fitness age implied by that value for comparison. It’s a wellness estimate, not a medical or lab measurement.
Why does my score look different from other apps? Every app uses its own formula and its own baseline window. Rythm always compares you to your own history, not to general population norms, so scores are personalized and may not match another app’s number for the same day.
Do I have to wait to get scores? No. Rythm calibrates instantly from the Apple Health history already on your iPhone — if you’ve worn an Apple Watch for a couple of weeks, your personal baselines for HRV, resting heart rate, and sleep are ready the moment setup finishes, and your recent history is scored right away. Only a brand-new Apple Watch with very little history needs a few days for the baselines to sharpen.
Why does Rythm request access to Apple Health? Rythm requests read-only access to heart rate, HRV, resting heart rate, SpO2, respiratory rate, sleep, activity, body weight, cardio fitness (VO₂ max), and workout data to compute your scores. Rythm never writes anything back to Apple Health. You can manage these permissions any time in the Health app under Sharing → Apps → Rythm (or in iPhone Settings → Privacy & Security → Health → Rythm).
How do I turn the morning reminder on or off? Go to the Profile tab and toggle Morning Reminder on or off; when it’s on you can also pick the time. It’s a simple local reminder to open the app — it contains no health data and is scheduled entirely on your device. You can also manage it in iPhone Settings → Notifications → Rythm.
Are the AI insights sent to a server? No. Rythm’s daily insights are generated entirely on-device using Apple’s on-device Foundation Models (Apple Intelligence). Your health data never leaves your device.
Can the AI insights be wrong? Yes. The insights are generated automatically by an AI model, and like all AI they can occasionally be inaccurate, incomplete, or misleading. Treat them as informational suggestions, not facts — and never as medical advice. Always use your own judgment and consult a qualified healthcare provider for any health decision.
Does Rythm require a subscription? Yes. Rythm is a subscription app with a free trial (if offered). After the trial, an active subscription unlocks the whole app — Recovery, Sleep, Stress & Strain, Trends, and AI insights. There is no separate free tier and no ads.
How do I cancel or manage my subscription? All subscriptions are managed entirely through Apple, not through Rythm. Use Apple’s subscription management to view, change, or cancel at any time. Access continues until the end of the current billing period.
I subscribed but the app still shows the paywall. Tap “Restore Purchases” on the paywall screen. If the issue persists, sign out and back into your Apple ID, then try restoring again.
Can I transfer my data to a new iPhone? Yes — iCloud backup includes your Rythm data if you have iCloud Backup enabled. Restore your new iPhone from an iCloud backup and your history will carry over.
Rythm’s scores are built on established, peer-reviewed physiology. The full list with direct links is available in the app under Profile → Science & References. These sources are provided for transparency and are not personalized medical recommendations — Rythm is not a medical device.
